Is that a tin shim or plastic. It looks diff, and my tin one always gets messed up.
This technique is known as "shimming" not picking. Shimming a lock requires one to put a bit of material between the shackle of the lock and the locking bar. All the locks in this video are low security with only one point of contact for a locking bar (notch on shackle). Better locks have a notch in the other side of the shackle (second point of contact for locking bar) which would require you to manipulate two shims at once. (not impossible but I assume its tricky) or pick the lock itself.

its only works for that locks? can you do it on normal padlocks?
@th55 you can make one out of a soft drink can. to think that for a couple dollars scissors and aluminium, you can steal hundreds of dollars worth of stuff
I learned how to do that when I was 10 I started sterling thing and ended up getting caught lol but know I help people open any kind of lock by lock picking them 🙂

fake, he already has the last number put in, thats why he holds the spin dial with his thumb so it doesn't move, otherwise why doesn't he spin the dial before opening.
